Our Journey: From Freelancers to Hosting Specialists
Ciao.Host’s story began long before its name became synonymous with sustainable and affordable hosting solutions. What started as a group of dedicated freelancers supporting SMEs with in-house IT infrastructure laid the foundation for who we are today.
In 2013, we launched as Pro Hosting (formerly ProHostingServer.com) to provide managed hosting services to our existing IT clients. With this move, we expanded into becoming a full-service IT support business, taking the burden off small businesses and SMEs by managing their challenging multi-licence software environments and infrastructure.
By late 2019, we acquired the operations of two boutique domain name registrars, strengthening our offerings for businesses and individuals alike. The global pandemic presented a unique challenge, but it also inspired innovation: during this time, we pivoted towards cloud hosting, SaaS, and remote IT support services to meet the changing needs of a more remote-first world.
A New Chapter: The Birth of Ciao.Host
In 2023, we embraced a new era by rebranding as Ciao.Host and offering specialised shared cloud hosting services to the public market. This bold step enabled us to bring our expertise to businesses and individuals worldwide while staying true to our mission of affordability, reliability, and excellence. Later that same year, we proudly launched our VPS hosting services and expanded our infrastructure with the addition of a US data centre to complement our existing UK data centre. With the support of a global content delivery network (CDN), Ciao.Host now delivers blazing-fast, secure, and reliable hosting to customers all over the world.
